Through darkness that surrounds the haunting tunes of the Hellenic scene, Mortuus Caelum has risen on a winter night in 2004. Founding member Gareth (guitars and vocals) and Geegor(drums), thought of starting a new project that had more impact to the scene and that was rooted more into their spirit.

With a more Norwegian black metal scene meets the Hellenic black metal scene approach, and of course their personal taste in melodies, they recorded 2 demos on 2004 "Iners imperator" and 2005" Bright Innocence of Nature".These two have brought in the attention of blackmetal.com records (USA) that finally released both as the debut album of the bands entitled  "Macto interitum mundi" 2006.

After their initial release, Drakhon(bass) joined forces for the live representation of the band mostly.A video for the song "Segregate World" was taped and released and the band begun having its first concerts.

In 2007 more shows were on the path of the band and the second album entitled "Ventus Infesto" is released through O.B.S.E. productions.

The band also managed to release one split tape with Hrizg (Spain) in 2008 via Final Embrace Records (Spain) and one split cd  with Winds of Malice (USA) in 2009 via December's Ghost Records (USA).

In 2010  WAR Productions released the compilation tape “Initium Novum”.

After some lineup changes due to personal reasons, the founding members agreed to stay as the only form of life in the band.

As for 2011 Gareth(Guitars and vocals) and Geegor(Drums,bass,guitars and FX), are ready to release their 3d work entitled "Ad libertatem per mortem" by WAR Productions (Portugal).

The new album features some of the most aggressive and fast, yet melodic and haunting melodies ever.It is true work of art from the band that has been working on these songs since 2008.

''Ad Libertatem Per Mortem'' cd is finally out in January 2012 by WAR Productions!!!

In March 2012 Infernal Kommando Distro (France) released in limited tape version 200 copies,with different cover "Ad Libertatem Per Mortem" album!!!
